Are you a business owner or employee whose role requires you to work or be "on-call", even while on vacation / holiday or a weekend getaway?
For many people, it's very difficult to disconnect from work completely. Co-workers, bosses, and even clients rely on us to stay connected to keep things running smoothly and handle emergencies - even during vacations.
Though not ideal, it is a reality for many.
At Orcas Island Getaway, we provide a dedicated workstation in the home for guests to take advantage of during their stay. Wireless internet, a desk which houses a 27" monitor to plug your laptop in and Printer/Copier for use are all complimentary for our guests.
But working from a home office can be isolating - or if you're trying to get something done with the rest of the family or friends around, that can be a challenge. And trying to find a space to work from a coffee shop can be difficult, not to mention distracting.
Now, you have another option:
Orcas Island's first business coworking space:
Before housing 376 Group, the building was the home to a high-tech company. Their technology focus provided the needed infrastructure throughout the building with super-high speed ethernet, Wi-Fi and other business solutions, including a backup generator to keep things running in case of power outages. (which happen more frequently than you'd imagine, especially during winter storms toppling trees on power lines).
BENEFITS OF COWORKING SPACES
No longer are co-working spaces used only by startup tech companies or young adults. Now, all kinds of people and all ages are finding benefits of these unique spaces to increase their productivity and get real work done. It's no wonder collaborative coworking spaces have become more and more popular over the past few years.
HERE'S WHAT WE FOUND ON OUR VISIT TO 376
We recently had an opportunity to spend some time at 376 and were impressed with the setup, the amenities, and the team. Here are a few pictures to give readers a sense of the space and amenities available, and some info directly from the team at 376.
The team at 376 says:
"We provide an environment where entrepreneurs, consultants, and telecommuters work independently and interactively. We support the synergy that happens when creative people share a workspace, start a dialog, and find connections.
376 offer solutions to meet your business needs and an office infrastructure to help you be productive. You do what you do, and we take care of the rest."
We walked away very impressed with what 376 has to offer, for both travelers and islanders.
Their plans offer options for individuals and groups, as well as plans for those looking to work there more than just an hour or two. In summary, if you're in need of getting some work done while visiting the island, 376 looks to offer a great solution for meeting your needs.
